Our core values

OUR STORY

Hi there! I’m Marta, and it’s only fair to say that Ginkgo-Educa has been a journey of a lifetime. I truly feel that my whole life converged into this game-changing moment, in 2019, when I’ve made a decision to merge my two biggest passions: science and education. And bam! Ginkgo-Educa burst into existence, with the fantastic Maria and Gregor by my side.

Over the past years, I’ve delved into Montessori education, crafted hands-on science activities for all ages, and advanced my skills in event coordination and project management. On September 2023, with more know-how and new skills, I’m starting to write another piece of Ginkgo’s story, with a renewed website, more services and the opening of our new space on Chutzenstrasse, Bern.

Marta Marialva

This great adventure started when, after completing a PhD in Evolutionary Biology, I decided to draw a new path where science and education could work together to build the foundations for a more just, tolerant and green future. Where the scientific process is reborn as a tool to solve local and global problems. Ginkgo-Educa is the best version of me, and I am having so much fun. It feels good to be surrounded by the right people, going in the right direction. Bring your ideas and join us on this ride.

Science came to my life as an opportunity to satisfy my curiosity and will to never stop learning. But Biology was only the start of an amazing (and still ongoing) journey to discover my way and what I really want to be when I grow up. Then one day, Marta came to me with the most amazing spark in her eyes and said: “I’m planting a Ginkgo seed. Do you want to help me make it grow?”. How could I say ‘no’?

Gregor Frey

I love to use my accounting experience and good local networking in education to help small and medium enterprises, as well as self-employed and private people. When Marta first came to me with a project in Science Education, I immediately felt compelled to make it grow and that is how I joined this great adventure. I love to work diligently and look forward to hearing from you.
